Complex Systems simulations with open standards & Dymola – Webinar on November 13th

Complex Systems simulations with open standards & Dymola – Webinar on November 13th

Learn how to cover the entire development process, from system design to verification, using real-time simulation.

The use of open standards such as Modelica and FMI is a key enabler to better understand the behaviour of systems and to work and communicate accurately with partners and suppliers. Dymola is not only capable to support an ad-hoc modelling level, such as functional behaviour or detailed design, but is also able to convert these predictive models into real time models thanks to Modelica language and Dymola symbolic manipulation of equations.

Main Changes in Modelica 3.4

The following backward compatible extensions have been introduced with Modelica 3.4:

  • Automatic conversions between different versions.
  • Flattening is clearly specified.
  • Convert from Integer to Enumeration.
  • Explicitly casting a Model to Record.
  • Initialization of Clocked Continuous States.
  • An added option to Ellipse Annotation to draw only an arc.
  • Allowing mixed Real and non-Real Record Derivatives.
  • Refinement of pure/impure functions in particular to restore backwards compatibility with Modelica 3.2.
  • Additionally, about 120 minor improvements were made.

Announcing Dymola 2017

Announcing Dymola 2017

We are delighted to announce that Dymola 2017 has been released! The key highlights are:

  • Modeling and simulation

Further enhanced search and diagram component filtering capabilities make model navigation easier, especially for large and complex systems.

Built-in support for model version management is compatible with GIT, as well as CVS and SVN.Dymola can also make a direct checkout from GitHub.

Simulation results are easier to analyze with a new interactive measurement cursor which allow easy inspection of multiple result points.

New Dymola 2016 FD01 is now available!

New Dymola 2016 FD01 is now available!

We are pleased to announce the Dymola 2016 FD01 release.

This release includes several new functionalities and updates among which:

  • Modelling and Simulation

The SDF data format support is introduced. With HDF5 archive format simulation data sharing and postprocessing will be simpler even for handling them in other tools. Futhermore it is now possible, at the end of the simulation, to set automated execution of user-defined post-processing commands, making the procedure simpler and more customizable. Continue reading

11th International Modelica Conference

11th International Modelica Conference

The 11th International Modelica Conference has been hold at Palais des Congrès de Versailles, France, on September 21st-23rd. It has been organized by Dassault Systèmes and Linköping University, together with Modelica Association.

The Modelica Conference is the main event for users, library developers, tool developers and language designer for sharing experience and keeping up-to-date about last news and scientific and industrial improvements concerning Modelica and FMI interface. The program is focused on physical and cyber-physical modeling and on modeling tools to be applied to a wide range of industrial researches and applications. In addition to usual paper presentations and poster sessions, Modelica tutorials have been shown for newbies and expert users together with tool developer presentations.
