The Vehicle Interfaces Library provides Modelica Standard interface definitions for automotive subsets and vehicle models. It aims to promote compatibility among all the various libraries in the automotive field, and to provide an adaptive and effective structure to model vehicles. The Library focuses on interface definition for individual subsystems (engine, transmission, frame), etc. A set of vehicle models allows to show how interfaces can be applied.
Connections among vehicles subsystems are standardized, but they still allow a significant variation of subsystems accuracy rate. For instance, a transmission could be modeled as a simple 1D rotating system, or as a detailed multibody system.
The Vehicle Interface Library is used by the following libraries: AlternativeVehicles, Engines, PowerTrain, PTDynamics, Smart Electric Drive and it is compatible with the Vehicle Dynamics Library.
